About ARISE Life Skills Curricula & Staff Training

ARISE, a nonprofit foundation headquartered in North Palm Beach, Florida, was founded in 1986 by Susan and Edmund Benson. The ARISE mission is two-fold:

  1. To create dynamic, easy-to-understand, thoughtful life skills workshops specifically aimed at people that work with at-risk youth. The staff take what they learn and teach lessons to the children and teens under their care. ARISE also has a groundbreaking program called “CHOICES: Drop it at the Door” which teaches anger management, stress reduction and communication skills to people who work with incarcerated and at-risk youth and teens.
  2. To train and certify instructors in a positive and thorough manner. ARISE instructors are able to diffuse tension, communicate more effectively, handle stress better and be more of a mentor to the people under their care.  ARISE makes sure that they are able to teach the ARISE life skills lessons in a supportive and effective way.

For more information, to become an ARISE Life Skills Instructor, or to schedule a staff training workshop, please visit the ARISE Foundation’s website: http://www.ariselife-skills.org. ARISE is a nonprofit and donations are always welcome.

ARISE seems to be a great program, from what I have read. But I have been trying for months to get into a Master Training class, and have been unable to do so. I have made contact with ARISE staff members and have been unable to get a solid answer about the class. Staff members have addressed my questions over the phone, and taken my name and contact information and never called me back with an answer (Three Times). I would love to get this awsome tool, and share it with my community, but at this point i don’t know what way to turn. If there is a staff member or ARISE supporter that can help me please let me know. Email me at rogers_jt@yahoo.com

    • Hi Jeremy. I forwarded your comment and email address to the person in charge of scheduling trainings. If you don’t hear from her within a few days, please call me (Amy) at (561) 630-2021. I apologize for the confusion. Hopefully we’ll be able to get you scheduled for a training. Master trainings don’t happen very often.

Wants to know if anyone has written a successful state level grant using the ARISE program as it’s curriculum and if so, what evaluation tool do you use to measure your program. I need a good pre/post test that will measure a wide range of behaviors, attitudes, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was wondering if there is a Master trainer located in Michigan who can train a staff of 5 to 7 people?

Arise is a very noble program, and you have an excellent resource site for those who are rendering treatments for troubled and at-risk youth.
